After the wedding

I should have guessed that I´m too busy to take any photos at my wedding day. I would have liked to make a posting about our wedding decorations, food and everything but here we are with no pics about the big day. As the wedding party was held at the studio I had built the lights up back at the studio so that any guests were able to take photos of each other. I think that it was a great idea and people were having a good time while shooting pics. They were also able to get nice portraits of themselves and their families.

The beautiful vintage wedding dress of mine was totally ripped as soon as the party started. Aaron was sitting on my lap and his feet went through the fine chiffon and ripped it all the way up and down. I don´t know where the other rips are from but the dress is full of them and some bright red lipstick too... Someone said that I was like from the Corpse Bride- movie and I agree :)

We had a special guest star performing besides the wedding band- M.A Numminen was having a speech and playing two songs.  His gig and the chocolate cake from Kakkugalleria seemed to score high amongst guests on our wedding!

Next I need to get used to my new surname. Phew!

Olisi pitänyt arvata etten ehdi kuvailemaan ollenkaan hääpäivänä. Olisi ollut kiva tehdä postaukset juhlapaikan koristeluista, ruoista ym mutta näinhän se meni, hyvä kun saatiin oma hääkuva otatettua. Miten se yksi sanonta nyt menikään...
Häät järjestettiin työpaikallani Studio Skaalan tiloissa joten pystytin kyllä valot studion takaosaan, siellä saattoi kuka tahansa vieraista käydä ottamassa kuvia itsestään ja toisistaan. Se oli mielelstäni hauska idea, ihmisillä tuntui olevan hauskaa ja muistoksi jää muotokuvat ja perhepotretit.

Kaunis vintagemekkoni tuhoutui jo häiden alkuvaiheessa kun sylissä istuvan Aaronin jalka lipsahti ohuen ja haperon sifonkisen päälliskankaan läpi repien pitkälti helmaa ja ylös saumoja pitkin. Tämän lisäksi mekko repesi illan aikana helmasta, kaula-aukosta ja hihan saumasta ja siinä on iso läiskä kirkkaan punaista huulipunaa. Yksi vieraista sanoikin että olen kuin leffasta Corpse Bride ja myönnetään, tyyli oli lopulta hieman sen mukainen :)

Meillä oli hääbändin lisäksi spesiaaliesiintyjä: MA Numminen piti puheen ja soitti kaksi biisiä (Auto synnyttää ja Dägä Dägä). Vieraat tuntuivat tykkäävän esityksestä, kehuja sai kovasti myös Kakkugallerian marmori-suklaakakku.

Kivat oli häät, nyt pitäisi seuraavaksi totutella uuteen sukunimeen....

Wedding dress

I have been very busy lately- the wedding day is getting nearer. For that reason the coming posts will consider various wedding things. Today I got (finally!!!) my wedding dress. There has been plenty of setbacks with the dress. The first dress that I bought from Ebay was never shipped to me and after many e-mails and some phone calls to my bank I managed to get the money back. I can see that the seller is not selling at Ebay anymore.

So, I ordered another vintage dress from Ebay. I received it promptly. I knew that it will be a bit small but I didn´t realise it would be that small! Fortunately the skillful dressmaker Daina made it fit me. I had to wait for my dress for almost 3 months after bringing it to her but it was worth waiting. It looks fine and it suits me well. And there´s still couple of days to go before the wedding!

 

 

Häämekon hankkiminen on ollut täynnä vastoinkäymisiä mutta nyt, muutama päivä ennen häitä sain sen vihdoin viimein! Ensimmäinen Ebaysta tilattu mekko jäi tulematta kokonaan, myyjä ei edes postittanut sitä. Lopulta useiden meilien ja parin puhelun jälkeen sain sentään rahani takaisin. Kyseisen myyjän tunnus on näköjään poistettu Ebaysta, hyvä niin!

Seuraavaksi tilasin toisen mekon Ebaysta. Olin jo tykästynyt ajatukseen 50-luvun vintagemekosta. Löysin onneksi pian muuten sopivan, paitsi kooltaan.  Tiesin sen olevan hieman pieni, mutta saatuani sen se osoittautuikin niin pieneksi, ettei mikään pikku vippaskonsti auttaisi. Ompelija apuun! Ompelimo Ateljee Daina teki hienoa työtä leventäessään mekkoa. Mekon korjauksiin tosin kului ompelijan kiireiden takia kuukausia mutta pääasia että sain sen viimein, se näyttää hyvältä ja sopii minulle!

Nyt voin siis keskittyä muihin järjestelyihin. Hääaiheista asiaa siis tiedossa lähiaikoina!

Wedding accessories

I received some wedding accessories yesterday! These are from the Etsy seller Whichgoose. I couldn´t be more happy with the purchase- these are absolutely beautiful! I think I will end up wearing just the headband because of otherwise there´s too much everything. The wedding dress is rather decorative too (I was going to buy a very minimalistic one but ended up buying vintage 50´s style dress with plenty of tulle and pearls).

There´s one small problem with the dress. I ordered it from ebay more than one month ago and haven´t received it yet... I emailed the seller yesterday but haven´t got any answer back.. I really hope there´s just some delay, nothing more.
