Vallila Interior-amazing SS12 collection!

Vallila Interior A/W 2011

The Vallila Interior new designs were published today. I have been working for them by shooting these pics and it has been lots of fun. I love many prints from the collection but here are some that I like the most.

 

Typos (design by Kirsi Sundell), Näillä Kulmilla (Matleena Issakainen, Caj Bremer and Lossi Turunen), Kauno (Matleena Issakainen), Jaffa (by Erik Bruun).

Aaron was modelling in many pics with some more fab fabrics. Raparperin alla (by Tanja Orsjoki) is in reproduction on two delicious colors. Tour-de-France (Matleena Issakainen).

Surrur

Marimekko launched their new book at Marikulma today. Surrur contains DIY ideas designed by seven Marimekko designers. There are beautiful photos showing the designers homes and their ideas and simple instructions how to make them yourself. I was surprised to see the book- it´s absolutely beautiful! It also contained many ideas for kids room. I´ll try at least the woven baskets (designed by Sami Ruotsalainen) and I could try to make a playful zebra jumpsuit (Tuula Pöyhönen) for Aaron. The tent for kids room (Maija Louekari) is also adorable!

Vallila Interior

Bonbonkakku (owned by Vallila Interiors) is selling many interesting designs colorful and playful enough. Here are two of them that I like a lot: Cordozar and Broken mirror.

Finlayson

Finlayson sells some adorable fabrics too! The Moomin-fabrics are cute of course. My favorite is black and white Iltamuumi and I also like the  colorful and modern Aappa.

Making duvet covers

I´m working on this lengthy project to make some duvet covers. I have already dyed the fabrics but both sewing and making of the templates for prints are still to be done. The result should be a bunch of hip linen for Aaron. I recently got one duvet cover ready- it was made of a fabric by Fokus Fabrik. I think it´s hard to find any fabrics that would not be too childish but are still suitable for babies. This one is playful enough.

Throw pillow covers

I must admit that I´m totally addicted to beautiful pillow covers. They are the icing on the cake in your home decor. Here are some that I consider almost perfect:

This one by Sofia Enbom is my absolute favourite. I bought it at Sälgkulla christmas fair and as far as I know it is the only place to buy these in Finland. Fortunately Sälgkulla is going to open a shop next summer which will be open all year round. I wholeheartedly recommend a visit there -also for because of the idyllic place itself!

The cute pencil plush that Aaron got from Santa Claus is also bought from Sälgkulla.
