Kawaii and tasty things

We happened to have plenty of japanese things around this christmas. I got a kawaii christmas present from my fiancé. He bought a tofu plush pillow (Hannari maccha tofu) from Blippo. It makes me smile and Aaron also loves to climb on it.

Here´s our counter punch for christmas foods: sushi!
Tokyokan is one of our favorite shops. We got a gift certificate there as a christmas present (and a charming cat bowl, too!). My sister gave it to us- she thought that the shop looks like us but she did not know that we are big fans already. As soon as we had a chance to visit the store we went to buy stuff to make sushi and found also two plates that I have been admiring before. We also bought a cute small panda rice bowl for Aaron.

New year´s eve at home amidst sushi was the best way to celebrate the turning of the year. My favorite home made sushi are ebi nigiri sushi (a rice ball with a shrimp on it) and makizushi with unagi (marinated eel) and avocado. I also love small rolls with takuon (pickled radish).

Japanese know how to make soda too. I once tried ramune at Manga cafe and now I noticed that they sell it at Tokyokan too! There are 3 different tastes- lemon, melon and strawberry. The design of the bottle is interesting too. There is a small glass ball that drops down into the bottle when the bottle is opened.
